Friday Talks

I am using Let It Be Beautiful's blog post Coffee Talk. It's been super fun.

FEELING: I'm a little tired but excited for Jono and Erika today. They are getting married this afternoon. When I get off work I have to hustle downtown to the Salt Lake Temple and then we have the rest of the day full of wedding stuff. I can't lie but I love seeing my husband dress up. He's super sexy. Just saying. :)

WATCHING:  Jungle book in school today. We are discussing inherited and acquired traits in my science class. I thought this would be a fun movie to watch and then discuss about the traits Mowgli (the boy) has and what he learns to do. Most of my students have never seen the movie and they love it. I didn't realize how old it is.
THANKFUL FOR: I'm thankful for the weekend. I can't wait to relax and sleep in this weekend. For some reason during the week I just want those extra minutes of sleep but on the weekend I never really sleep in. I don't get it. I am also thankful to hang out with my husband tonight. He usually works until 2 in the morning Friday nights so I don't get to see him.

THINKING ABOUT: I'm thinking about what book I want to read next. I am waiting for tons of sequels to come out but until then I have heard Pivot Point is good so I'm thinking of reading that. I might need some other ideas.
EATING: I just had an apple and string cheese. But Alan made me scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning. It was super sweet. :) Love that man.
READING: Thinking of starting Pivot Point.
LOVING: Elsage Designs. They are super comfy. I have two shirts and a sweatshirt from her collection. It will take me a little bit but I want to buy more. Elsage Designs

Hot Coco Talk

I first spotted Ashley's Thursday Thoughts post a while back, and I was interested. I love reading about other people's lives so I thought I would talk a little about me today. I really am new to this blog thing. :)

FEELING: A little tired but for the most part relaxed. There is a lot of stuff I want to get done with at school today and before I go to my other job at Athleta. My two jobs keep me fairly busy so sometimes when I get home I just want to crash and not do anything other than read or play games on my ipad so I have to maximize my day during work. I also want to spend time with my husband. Tonight he works until after 1 AM so when I get off work I'll have the night to myself.

LISTENING TO: Bill Nye the Science Guy video on skin in my class. Yes I am multi-tasking while the students are watching. This is now my third time today seeing it.

THANKFUL FOR: My hubs. He had a busy day yesterday but he still had time to come snuggle with my while I was going to bed. Yes I go to bed before him. He's a total night owl and I have to get up WAY to early to stay up late anymore. I'm grateful that he works so hard for our family. He works two jobs, goes to school and is the head coach of a high school hockey team. What a man. ;) (He would hate me bragging about him.)
THINKING ABOUT: Sending out Valentine's Day cards. I love getting snail mail and have friends all over the US so I want to send a little love to them while we are all in different areas. Ps Alan HATES Valentine's Day. He thinks it's a commercial holiday for boyfriends who don't treat their girlfriends bad the whole year and then spoil them one day. He says he loves and spoils me all year round.

EATING: Right now I just finished eating a cheese stick and a Pure Protein chocolate peanut butter bar. It was a nice snack. I am trying to eat better so this was pretty tasty. I have lunch coming up in an hour then it will be salad and a chicken sandwich. Tomorrow I get to go catch up with two of my besties for lunch at Cheesecake Factory. I am going to get either the Renee's special because I love it or a salad with dressing on the side. I know no one wanted to know that. lol.

WATCHING: Tonight when I get home from work I am going to pull up my Hulu Plus and watch Vampire Diaries. I hear it's a really good episode. This weekend when Alan and I get time together we will watch Arrow. A new fav for me and he has liked it for awhile. It's awesome. I also have two episodes of Reign to watch. That show is a little addicting but then I'm a little torn about it. I haven't decided what to make out of it. I'll probably pick up one of my books to read until Alan gets home.

LOVING: I'm loving books right now. I just want to read and keep reading. I have read some really good books recently and then some not so good ones. I'm still at that point where I have to read the whole book just to see if it gets better. It's a little sad. I also am loving the sunny weather. It's not super warm but hey it's something.

Thursday Thoughts

http://www.ramblingsofasuburbanmom.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/TTGood-copy.png

I'm linking up with  Jennifer of Ramblings of a Suburban Mom. She cracks me up every day so I thought I would do my own Thursday Thoughts.

1. When you are going to sluff a class don't go talk to the teacher right before you have her class. I had a student right before school come talk to me and then she didn't show up to my class not even 5 minutes later. Don't worry the cop busted her and another student of mine.

2. Candy Crush- Such a bad and good addiction at the same time. It is a nice way to just shut off my brain for a little bit and do nothing. Can't complain about that.

3. I'm excited for dinner tonight with some of my dear girlfriends. They are sisters and I met Jenaya while we were both dating friends. The relationships with the boys didn't work out but our friendship has stayed strong. I got to become friends with her sister Jess through Jenaya and I'm so grateful.  Blue lemon here we come!! Get some yummy food in my belly.

4. Snow I didn't think you were going to happen today so I wore Toms and drove our little Sentra and gave the 4 wheel drive to my husband. Well balls. Guess I'll have wet feet while I go run all my errands. I have to meet hubby for an appointment, dinner with my pals, returning/exchanging stuff to Ulta from Christmas and picking up books from the library. Side note I love the public library. I own a kindle and I don't mind using that or my ipad to read a book but there is just something about turning the pages in an actual book. There are some really good ones out/coming out. Read the Vampire Diaries and Bloodlines series.

5. Oh my birthday is coming up on Sunday. I'll be 28. I can't say that I'm super excited this year. I did buy myself a few presents some of which were subscription boxes. I got dottie mini, pijon box and golden tote. I want to get a few more. Whoops. I really want to get Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Love Hewitt from Fancy. I just can't pull the trigger because of the price. But I am really contemplating it. Ahh. Oh how these boxes get me every month. I really need to crack down and not get some. I want to save more money this year but these boxes kill me and all the reviews everyone gives. I love them. Golden ToteLove your Golden Tote!

New Year Same Me

I've been going round and round reading people's blogs, tweets and facebook posts about their new years resolutions but for me I can only think of one thing.

I need to look forward instead of behind me. There are so many things in my life that drive me crazy but I have amazing things in my life too. I don't want the negative things to hold me back so I am choosing to look at the positive things and work towards looking at the future instead of living in the past. I want to be present and take in all the joy that I am blessed with.
I want to enjoy all the time I have with my job of teaching 12/13 year olds all day, working for a athletic clothing company with friends, being with my husband. I want to cherish every moment I have with him. Our lives our so busy that I want to enjoy the small things. I also want to take time out for me even if it's only a few minutes per day.

Life lately

I decided I wanted to start over with my blog. I never really got into it but I want to change that. I'm going to try and post once a week. I know I don't have very many followers and I'm ok with that. That can change with time, right? If you keep changing your angles one time it will have to click into place. I have to start by figuring out where I want my blog to go. That is the big question. I'm not super crafty like my friend @jessicabirkeland and I feel like I'm pretty hip with style but +Jenaya Berrett has me beat. I'm just me and I'm happy with that. I do love books so I'll probably dish about that and food mostly. I can do a lot of things but I'm not amazing at any of them. Life can be great that way. I'd rather be good/ok at lots then great at one. So here goes my blog. Thanks for kicking it off with me. I really hope you enjoy!

Pumpkin carving

So I don't have students tomorrow because of the end of the term and I only half to be there for half a day so Alan and I decided to have a date tonight. We got cafe Rio which I've been craving for awhile and then carved pumpkins with his little sister Julie.

What I came out to after school today

Today wasn't too bad at school today and for the most part my students were really good. When I left school to come home I noticed my car had writing on it. My car was the only one with writing. I was a little nervous it might be bad but when I got to my car it had hearts, I love you's and you're the best teacher written on there. It just made me smile. I'm pretty sure I know who the culprits are but still a fabulous surprise!
